“Being part of the arthritis community means a lot more than just finding out tips on medications and treatment to brings together people who would otherwise be alone in their diagnosis. Many people have support from their family and friends but sometimes it takes someone to have felt it to really understand what life is like with arthritis. I honestly don't know where I would be without the groups I belong to now. I know that even now when my arthritis seems to be going into overdrive and even if it gets totally out of control I'll always have someone who has my back. I'm so thankful I stumbled into Arthritis Introspective it really has changed my life for the better.”

"The group has helped me in many ways. It is a wonderful support network and a comfort to me to know that there are people who are experiencing the same health challenges. It Is inspiring and motivating to meet people like you who have dealt with RA most of your life. The group has a tremendous amount of experience and expertise in many areas, including nutrition, pharmaceuticals and Lab tests. I'm grateful for everything I've learned and for the support I receive.”

“Arthritis Introspective provides an opportunity for individuals with all forms of arthritis to get together and share health information in order to better manage our diagnoses.  Because of the information I learn from this group, I'm able to have more intelligent conversations with my rheumatologist, physical therapist, nutritionist, and even my friends and family. Since participating, I feel more in charge of my disease.  Props go to the organizers for getting a great group of people together.”

- Carly P, Los Angeles, CA. DX: Rheumatoid Arthritis. Year of onset: 1992, April 21, 2014

“I discovered Arthritis Introspective two years ago. It was amazing to find a group of people who understood what I was going through and helped to explain what I didn't completely understand about my conditions.  I wish I discovered AI five years earlier.  I'm glad they are in my life now.”

- Sharon S, Glendale, CA. DX: Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia.  Year of onset: 2007, April 21, 2014

"The Arthritis Introspective support group, led by Haydee Sedlmeier, was such a blessing to me when I attended for the first time.  I had been diagnosed with a scary disease, RA and most of my friends were telling me it was no big deal, the meds would take care of it and I could then live a normal life.  But my experience was showing me that the meds did not make RA go away, or the flares decrease.  When I met with Haydee’s group, for the first time I felt I could show someone how frightened and overwhelmed I was by the pain and fatigue I experienced more often than not.  The women there understood my suffering, and now I was no longer alone with it.  Haydee’s gentle wisdom and helpful ideas have provided additional support for my journey.

Not everyone can make it to the group each month, including me, but it matters to me that it exists, and irregular attendance is part of the challenge of having a group of sick people try to get together.  But I appreciate everyone’s efforts to make it when they can, and especially appreciate Haydee’s devotion to our circle.  Her positive energy and openhearted kindness make this a group worth attending.  Thanks, AI, for helping me negotiate this disease more skillfully."

Charles Greetings from Greenville, SC,

Did you find a local group you can attend meetings or perhaps converse with someone on the phone or email?  I truly hope so.   My husband searched for a local support group for my RA and OA none was found here in beautiful Greenville SC.   That's sad.  Well I am looking into perhaps starting a chapter with the help of the Arthritis Foundation. I hope they find me worthy enought.   Feel free to email me at if you need a ray a sunshine to get you through the moment. I have zero knowledge of arthritis only experience to talk about.

I was diagnosed in May 2018. I have undergone numerous surgeries and am disappointed in most of my results. My rheumatologist said my PSA should have been diagnosed a long time ago. I am from Wilmington Delaware and would like to find a group close to here. So if anyone has any suggestions or advice would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
