JA Parent Support Network launched: 2018
JA Parent Support Network Leader: Jessica
About this JA Parent Support Network: To help support parents who have a child with rheumatic disease understand ways of improving their child’s life with pain and help educate them about the disease. JA Parent Support Networks let individuals know that they are not alone and gives them a voice to share with others.
About Jessica: My name is Jessica and my daughter has JA. While attending a recent JA Conference, I was struck by the number of parents, especially those of children recently diagnosed with JA, who feel isolated, guilty, and overwhelmed. Though it was our first Conference, I feel strongly that I was led there to help parents who are feeling exactly like I felt six years ago upon my daughter’s diagnosis. My family and I are excited to strengthen our ties to our JA family through peer support and fundraising efforts!
