Arthritis Support Network launched: 2014
Arthritis Support Network Leader: Patrice Type of Arthritis: Polymyaglia Rheumatica
About this Arthritis Support Network:
My vision for this group is to hold monthly meetings that will vary in topics relating to arthritis. Diet, exercise, health and legislative updates are all important to arthritis patients. Group members' spouses, significant others and/or family members are welcome to attend the meetings. We meet once a month, September through May. I send out an email once a week to the members to update everyone on what is happening with our group as well Arthritis Foundation events. We also have teams for the Walk to Cure Arthritis (held in spring) and the Jingle Bell Run (held in winter.) Please join our group so that you are on the email list to receive updates and monthly meeting dates.
I have 2 types of Arthritis. I have OA in my left knee and left wrist. I also have Polymyaglia Rheumatica (PMR). I am on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Arthritis Foundation. I was the 2017 Adult Honoree for the Sacramento Walk to Cure Arthritis. I am also active in the Advocacy Summit meetings that take place every year at our State Capital. I just recently acquired the Arthritis Support Network group leader Advocacy certification which will allow me to be a voice for arthritis patients on the federal level. In March 2017 I went to Capitol Hill along with other Advocates to meet with our legislators about Arthritis. I am also a Community Outreach Volunteer and speak at various events in our area bringing awareness and education about Arthritis.
